Since I have been so bad about keeping caught up, I thought I would do a 25 Things post {inspired of course by Lisa and Shauna} …
1. We had absolutely the best Easter weekend. It was one of those weekends that you cannot plan and it end up that wonderful. It makes me miss my sister and niece and nephew even more!
2. I haven’t been blogging because I have been quilting. And thinking. And thinking about blogging. And how the blog ties in to my business. And if those that subscribe via email care about some of what I blog about. {BTW, if you don’t want it to come to email, but still don’t want to miss it, you can use the RSS button on the upper right corner and use Google Reader or any reader}.
3. I decided to cut my hair short over spring break, but it wasn’t short enough. So, my sister cut it over Easter. Still not short enough. So, I am going for a third haircut today.
4. I am motivated to go today because we are on Good Morning Texas next Monday with our quilts. Super excitement and thank you to all of those that I have emailed and said your quilt was ready, but, could we use it on the show? And you said YES!!!
5. Speaking of motivation – vanity may have saved my life. Okay, that is dramatic, but it might have saved me an ER visit. Last month I had a sinus infection. I got antibiotics and a steroid shot. Finished that round and still not well. Round 2 of oral steroids and stronger antibiotic. Finished it but the day after Easter I started with a little cough. By yesterday it was a horrible cough. I thought “hey, I can’ t go on TV hacking up a lung” so I went to the Dr. Two x-rays later I am told I have pneumonia. Antibiotic shot and more antibiotics.
6. But I won’t be coughing on TV.
7. Oral steroids make you meaner than a pre-menopausal woman with PMS. I know. Mr. BP made me a bar graph to prove it.
8. While I don’t see the bottom of all the quilts, I see the bottom of the ones due by next week. All in thanks to the ladies that quilt and sew and stack and ship and laugh with me. Which means I will be able to start doing a project here and there that doesn’t revolve around quilts.
9. I already have a list of projects in my head.
10. I love Words with Friends. It is the only game I play. I have determined however that I really only enjoy playing with a select few people. My favorite two are my sister and one of my best friends growing up. Sometimes my sis and I are competitive, but it is generally a friendly game. However, when I play Cory, we fight it out to the finish almost every single time. Even moms of 4 need some excitement.
11. My phone got reset at Sprint and wiped out my voicemail. I hate recording my message and keep putting it off and off and off.
12. Princess Fiona is having enough Terrible 3′s for 10 kids. The boys would have a tantrum on the floor and a minute later get over it. The D.R.A.M.A. that surrounds that child makes me crazy.
13. On the other hand, the boys never sang everything and gave as many kisses and love yous and snuggles as she does.
14. She announced yesterday that she needed a tiara to wear to school. Everyday.
15. I saw these at Learning Express the other day and fell in love:
As soon as they get the red in stock, I will be buying one to set by my cutting table to write down measurements and such.
16. I can’t decide what color to paint the kitchen cabinets. Next week I am going to take pictures of the progress and maybe ask you to vote.
17. A cold front came through today. Only Texas has this crazy weather. Oh, and maybe Oklahoma.
18. One more week of soccer season. I will be glad to only have one sport going for a while.
19. Baseball won’t be ending. Ever. Well, winter. Chase is playing Select. Which means there is a summer season as well as fall and spring. It is like being a golf widow, except I am a baseball widow and mom. Mr. BP coaches so he and Chase are always gone.
20. I wanted to plant a garden this year. I didn’t. The plants are thanking me.
21. I have saved almost every tee scrap from every quilt (I do toss the unusable small pieces). If I don’t start figuring out what I am going to do with them soon, they will overtake us.
22. Trying to find a concrete floor pourer (yes, that is the technical term) is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I need the studio floor leveled and stained so we can go on to the next phase of the conversion. I should say I find them, but they never return calls. Making me crazy.
23. Speaking of crazy, my sister made me watch Long Island Medium. Goes against everything I believe, but I can’t stop watching it.
24. I never thought I would make it this far. Almost gave up at 15.
25. Just looked at my nails. Probably should get them done since the 2.5 week old shellac is looking more than tired.
Have a great weekend,
Bev
